Why do Adjustable fitness hurdle exercises?
All runners should be making friends with adjustable fitness hurdle drills, not just steeple chasers. The hip and groin region for runners tends to be one of the tightest, often neglected areas; incidentally it’s also a pivotal point for running efficiency. Runners who don’t work on opening up their hips, over time get tighter and tighter, making them prone to injuries as well as inhibiting their stride. From there, they’re limiting their potential.
Adjustable fitness hurdle drills will increase a runner’s flexibility, range of motion, and core strength. They should be integrated in as part of your dynamic flexibility routine and with all other rules of running, consistency is key. Aim for doing these drills two to three times a week, a great time to do them is after you’ve cooled down after a workout.
Precision is of prime importance here, if you’re not doing the adjustable fitness hurdle drills correctly you’ll wind up reinforcing bad habits which can wind up doing more harm than good. It’s a smart idea to have a coach or someone who understands the drills observe that you’re doing them correctly and holding proper form throughout. Quality over quantity is stressed, and going as slowly as you need to at first in order to do them CORRECTLY is far more important than speed.

Pro Style Jump Rope-Jump roping is a very helpful cardiovascular exercise. You’re really exercising a complex system of muscles. You’re not really isolating one muscle. You’re exercising your upper body, core and lower muscles all in one action. You can’t get more complete than that
JUMP A STATIONARY ROPE-The rope is stretched out across the floor. The jumpers line up and jump the rope one at a time on a signal. As the jumper approaches the rope he plants both feet together and broad jumps across the rope. Cue: take off on 2 feet and land on 2 feet.
JUMP THE SNAKE-Rope turners crouch or kneel and wiggle the rope from side to side, (no more than 12 inches). Jumpers take off and land as they did with a stationary rope. The goal is to avoid touching the rope.
HEEL TOE-The Heel-toe, as the rope passes under the feet, the jumper jumps with the weight landing on the right foot while touching the left heel forward. On the next turn of the rope, he humps lands on the same foot, and touches the left toe beside the right heel. This pattern is done again with the opposite foot bearing the weight.
